We have successfully applied for a five year license!

Ofcom has published a list of applicants and their contact details for community radio licences in the East and South of East England (excluding Greater London and other areas within the M25). Forty-eight valid applications were received by the deadline on Tuesday 18 November.

Applications will be published on the Ofcom website in due course

As I know you are aware, OX4 FM is east oxfords own community radio station. We have been operating since 2006 and are finally able to apply to ofcom for a 5 year full time FM licence. We are seeking letters in support of our application to ofcom, to be submitted by 18th November – apologies for the late notice!

If you feel like writing in our support please send us a word doc addressed to Ofcom, explaining why you feel we should be granted the licence and what difference you think it will make to the OX4 community.

Our deadline for replies is Friday 14th November

Please also pass this news on to anybody you feel would wish to support us.

We have now moved to temporary studio accommodation housed by Oxford Council, whilst we build a new radio station for OX4 in Oxford.

There are live shows still streaming on the internet from 7pm every week tune in now.

News: May 01 2008

We are currently moving our studio due to Oxford council closing Cowley Community Centre Barnes Road.

We are still streaming music through our automated system whilst waiting to
apply for a full-time FM licence. Thanks for all the support we received throughout our
3rd RSL.! Live shows will resume as soon as we can!

OX4FM's long-term goal is a 5 year community licence. We plan to submit an application right after our RSL. If you have caught our broadcasts or listened to our podcasts and you want to support our bid , do send your feedback to ox4radio@gmail.com. Maybe you could say how we met a need that other radio stations didn't. Apart from helping our bid, that would do our egos here a world of good.
